Yuri Kuma Arashi Crunchyroll HeaderMadman Entertainment has one of the more intriguing shows of the year now streaming through the AnimeLab service with the recent pickup of Yurikuma Arashi. The first two episodes of the series have now gone live on the service that brings more simulcasts and streaming opportunities to anime fans in Australia and New Zealand without having to rely on North American based streaming services.

The new series is being directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara with Tomohiro Furukawa as the assistant director at Silver Link while Etsuko Sumimoto is handling the character design adaptation from the original manga by Akiko Morishima that was kicked off this past February. Set to debut in January 2015, the series will star Miho Arakawa as Ginko Yurishiro, Yoshiko Ikuta as Ruru Yurigazaki, Nozomi Yamane as Kureha Tsubaki, Yui Ogura as Sumika Izumino, Aoi yuki as Mitsuko Yurizono, Konomi Yurikawa, Kikuko Inoue as Yuri-Ka Hakonaka, Aya Endo as Reia Tsubaki and Yōko Hikasa as Kaoru Harishima. It also has a few men in the cast with Junichi Suwabe as Life Sexy, Mitsuki Saiga as Life Cool and Kazutomi Yamamoto as Life Beauty.

Plot concept: After an asteroid explosion and meteor shower lit up the sky over planet earth, strange adorable bears began to attack and devour humans. The earthlings responded with violence of their own, and in the end, a massive barrier – the Wall of Extinction – was erected to separate man from bear. This fragile peace lasted until two high school girls encounter a yuri flower blooming – only to be shaken by the piercing warning of the Bear Alarm! Once again, bear and man- or bear and girl -will be pitted against each other in a deadly and mysterious showdown.
