2 min read

Isuca HeaderCrunchyroll made a new announce at the Anime LA convention this weekend that they’ve picked up the streaming rights for the anime series Isuca. The series doesn’t have a lot of details yet as to its simulcast as the time and territories will come in the near future as the show doesn’t debut until January 23rd, 2015 in Japan. With it being a ten episode series, it has a bit more leeway in when it starts to be a part of the winter season.

The series comes from the manga by Osamu Takahashi which started in 2009 in Young Ace and has a few volumes to its name so far with the fifth volume released this summer. With the project set to be a TV series rather than OVA series as first speculated, there’s a lot of curiosity as to how the copious amount of nudity will be handled. The series is being produced by ARMS with Akira Iwanaga directing it based on scripts by Masashi Suzuki. The theme song for the series is set to be performed by Afilia Saga.

The series cast includes Ayumi Fujimura as Isuca, Saeko Zogo as Nadeshiko, Akane Kohinata as Matsuri, Yumeha Koda as Fumizuki, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Kanae, Ibuki Kido as Sakuya Shimazu, Keisuke Koumoto as Shinichiro Asano, M.A.O as Suseri Shimazu and Kaori Sadohara as Tamako.

Plot concept: Shinichirou decides to look for a job in order to pay his rent, and his teacher suggests that he work for someone at their house, doing housekeeping. However, the person who hired him was Sakuya, a girl who is the 37th head of the Shimazu family, and her job is to exorcise and eliminate unwanted creatures. Shinichirou accidentally releases one of the creatures that Sakuya captures and they cooperate to catch it. A story of comedic creature hunting begins!
