We heard back in October of last year that the second season of Gatchaman Crowds was going to land in 2015, but the actual production itself hadn’t said much about it, though Tatsunoko had some job openings that seemed to basically confirm it. Now the staff for the project has confirmed that the new season, called Gatchaman Crowds insight, will definitely be landing this year. According to the report, the new series will show the next stage of events for the cast and will be bringing in the blue NOTE that wasn’t in the first season along with adding other new characters as well. No formal date/season has been set for the series year. The first series ran in the summer of 2013 and it’s largely expected that this series will do the same this year.

The first series of the show was simulcast by Crunchyroll in multiple territories and Sentai Filmworks picked up the home video release, which they brought out on bilingual DVD and Blu-ray.

Series concept: “Gatchaman” is the general term for warriors who wear special power suits called NOTE, which are manifestations of special spiritual powers possessed by living beings. The Gatchaman force on Earth consists of aliens who have been dispatched by a council and Earthlings who have been scouted for their latent abilities, all of whom work together to protect Earth’s people and resources from alien criminals who have invaded the planet in violation of the probation enforced by the council. less
