I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying Episode 10
Should this couple even entertain the idea of children?

What They Say:
Kaoru is an OL you can find anywhere, serious and works diligently, but her husband is a super otaku and more-or-less a NEET. She is caught up in one of her husband’s whims one day or the subject of his concerns another, but the two are so close that it’s embarrassing to even watch them!

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
After an episode that focused on how Kaoru and Hajime were before they got together on their first date, it certainly makes you like them all the more to see how they were before. With this episode, his mother comes to visit for a bit with Hajime but mostly she rails against him for the lack of producing a child at this point, which is a familiar gag for all parents of married children. Amusingly, he brings it up with Kaoru later and they talk a bit about what would have to change. It’s amusing to see how interested she is in it and the way he’s so bland since it’s how he talks about everything. Some of the other bits deal with names and the like, including a great Evangelion reference. Which of course plays into the series title and there’s just fun in that.

In Summary:
While initially with this series you may think Hajime is not ready for fatherhood, neither of them are really prepared for it. Neither are really sure of things, what’s involved and they express some of their fears as well. Of course, we get the aspects that Hajime brings to it, but hey, I named one of my kids after an anime character so I can’t really say all that much. It’s simple fun and I like the parental involvement here, especially with the kinds of things that Hajime’s mother has to face with her own kids.
