‘Wonder Woman’ Feature Writer Close To Signing

2 min read

Gal Gadot as Wonder WomanProgress on the superhero film front is pretty strong this week overall and one of the other nods coming in is in regards to the Wonder Woman feature. The latest tidbit to surface is that Warner Bros. is in negotiations with Jason Fuchs to pen the screenplay for it. Fuchs has done a bit of minor acting over the years but has transitioned since 2012 into screenwriting. His initial film was Ice Age: Continental Drift, a film that went on to earn almost $900 million theatrically, and is the writer on 2015’s Peter Pan film Pan. With Pan being a Warner Bros. film, they obviously want to try and keep him in house and he’s already pegged for a Pan sequel as well, though if this goes through the Wonder Woman film would obviously be the priority.

Warner Bros. announced in late November that they were going with Michelle MacLaren to direct it. The name may not stand out for many, but she’s certainly got the credit to make the leap as she’s got extensive genre TV directing duties over the years, from Game of Thrones to The Walking Dead, with a dash of Breaking Bad among others in the mix.

The film is set to debut on June 23rd, 2017 directed by Michelle Maclaren and starring Gal Gadot.
