Australian fans are going to get their hands on RDG Red Data Girl on January 7th, 2015 with the new pickup by Hanabee and they’re going to also take advantage of the region coding difference with it. The company will be bringing out the show on separate DVD and Blu-ray releases. FUNimation licensed and released the show in North America, but due to Blu-ray holdback issues with Kadokawa, they’ve been unable to do anything other than DVD with it so far. With Australia in a different region code, they’re not restricted in the same way as there’s no large fear of reverse importation.

The dub is directed by Joel McDonald and stars Bryn Apprill, Micah Solusod, Caitlin Glass, Joel McDonald, Kristi Kang, Chris Burnett, Ryan Reynolds, David Matranga, Clifford Chapin, Dave Trosko, Jason Liebrecht and Leah Clark.

Plot concept: Izumiko is a fifteen year old outcast who was raised inseclusion at an ancient shrine hidden deep within the forest. This mysterious teenager destroys any electrical device she attempts to use, and her painful shyness has left her with few, if any, friends. Her world begins to evolve after enrolling in Houjou Academy, a school home to students of supernatural origins. Accompanied by her fated guardian, the brooding monk-in-training Miyuki, Izumiko soon discovers the shocking truth about herself: she is a vessel for the spirt of a powerful and vengeful goddess from a time long since passed. As her bond with Miyuki growns stronger, the spirit lurking within Izumiko begins to awaken. Can this fragile beauty learn to control her newfound power– or will the secret she carries make her the enemy of all mankind?
