‘Cowboy Bebop’ Anime Begins Hulu Distribution

2 min read

Cowboy Bebop HeaderWith the release just a couple of weeks away, FUNimation has moved to the next stage of promoting the series by bringing out the first four episodes on Hulu. They’ve gone and provided them in both Japanese and English so that fans of both tracks – of which there are many due to its lengthy broadcast history – can revisit the crew and the fun ahead of the home video release. The show is open to all though those with Hulu Plus accounts can check out the show on their TV connected apps and mobile devices as well.

For those buying the release, you can take a look at the regular edition release covers here and the exclusive editions here. Set for release on December 16th, 2014 in regular DVD edition and Blu-ray edition in addition to retailer exclusive packaging at FUNimation itself and Amazon, there’s definitely going to be some hard choices ahead in terms of packaging and display.

Plot concept: The Bebop crew is just trying to make a buck. This motely lot of intergalactic loners teams up to track down fugitives and turn them in for cold hard cash. Spike is a hero whose cool facade hides a dark and deadly past. The pilot Jet is a bruiser of a brute who can’t wait to collect the next bounty. Faye Valentine is a femme fatale prone to breaking hearts and separating fools from their money. Along for the ride are the brilliant-but-weird hacker Ed and a super-genius Welsh Corgi named Ein. On their own, any one of them would be likely to get lost in the sprawl of space, but together, they’re the most entertaining gang of bounty hunters in the year 2071.
