Summer 2014 series Nobunaga Concerto ended a bit ago but there hasn’t been any movement on a home video release until now. Pony Canyon has finally set a Japanese release date of January 21st, 2015 for the series in a full DVD only box set form priced at 19,000 yen. The release will contain all ten episodes of the series plus the original soundtrack, which contains all 38 songs of the series. On disc extras include an audio commentary and the clean ending sequence. First press materials include a booklet.

There was little talked about with this show since its announced back in May 2014 that the historical manga by Ayumi Ishii was being adapted into both an anime and a live action series. The manga, which is published in Shonen Sunday, has released ten volumes so far. The live action adaptation landed in October to be followed by a live action film as well. The anime adaptation is directed by Yusuki Fujikawa based on scripts by Natsuko Takahashi.

Plot concept: Due to some unlikely events, Saburo is flung back in time to the Sengoku Era. In the past, he meets a young, but sickly Oda Nobunaga, one of Japan’s greatest war lords. Unable to shake Saburo’s uncanny resemblance to himself, Nobunaga asks Saburo to take his place as war lord. Equip with knowledge from the modern era, will Saburo be able to unite Japan?
