TOHO is beating the drum loudly when it comes to reminding people about getting their orders in for Yowamushi Pedal and they’re doing it again this week with a new spot. With Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road, as they’ve added a new spot for it now that definitely provide some of the simple but engaging energy of the series. We previously got our first DVD/BD promo spot for the series, which also highlighted some of the upcoming events that will take place next spring. TOHO will be hosing a TOUR DE YOWAPEDA beginning in May 2015 with a Grande Road event kicking it off at Pacifico Yokohama. Quite a few of the actors are going to be involved as the locations grow and this spot announces that voice actors Yusa Koji and Nojima Hirofumi are joining in as well.
The DVD/BD release is planned for a January 21st, 2015 debut where the twenty-four episode series is getting an eight volume release with the Blu-ray’s priced at 6,800 yen each and the DVDs at 5,800 yen each.
Based on the manga by Wataru Watanabe, it will be directed by Osamu Nabeshima based on scripts by Reiko Yoshida with character designs by Takahiko Yoshida and animated at TMS Entertainment.

Plot concept: Sakamichi Onoda is a rather timid, anime-loving first-year student at Sohoku High School. Since the fourth grade, he had been riding his commuter bicycle 90-kilometers to and from Tokyo’s otaku hot spot, Akihabara after school. Upon entering high school, he tried to join the anime research club, after meeting Imaizumi Shunsuke, a renowned cyclist since middle school, and Naruko Shoukichi, who swept the Kansai cycling championship, he ended up joining the competitive cycling club. All kinds of trials and rigorous training awaited Onoda, but with the support of his many friends and upperclassmen, the talented road racer inside him began to awaken!
The second season will focus on Inter High bicycle race continuing from the first season of the series! High school students pushing themselves to the limit as they bet everything on their bicycles!
