DMP Sets Osamu Tezuka ‘Ludwig B’ Manga Kickstarter

1 min read

LudwigDigital Manga Publishing has been working with Kickstarter programs for a bit, some succeeding and some not, and now they have a new one that runs through December 26th, 2014 to bring out the two volume series Ludwig B by Osamu Tezuka. The book is one that was published after Tezuka passed and is an incomplete work, but one that looks like it would be a pretty engaging work – especially for classroom studies. DMP has set a $21,600 goal for the campaign and have included some pretty slick rewards (we’re looking at you, collector cards!).

Plot concept: Born a musical genius, Ludwig van Beethoven struggles with his passion like all artists. On top of being used and abused by aristocrats and dealing with his pushy, alcoholic father, young Beethoven must also deal with ear damage caused by a blow from Franz Creutzstein’s cane. When Ludwig is charged with taking care of his two younger brothers during a tumultuous French war, all he can do is express his conflicted thoughts through music.
