Things are moving along pretty well so far when it comes to the theatrical adaptation of Suicide Squad as the film is next up on the list after the debut of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. There’s a lot going on in terms of casting rumors, but nothing has been finalized yet. What is starting to come out is some of the production information, which means casting may not be too far behind and potentially before the Christmas holiday when most things essentially shut down for a couple of weeks. The latest tidbit is that the feature will be filming in the Pinewood Toronto Studios from Mid-April to the end of August with it also doing on-location shooting within the city as well. It’s currently working under the “secret” title of Bravo 14, which is just to try and mask the production a bit – something that didn’t last long.
Announced for an August 5th, 2016 released, Suicide Squad is being helmed by Fury director David Ayer. It has previously reported that Will Smith and Tom Hardy are being sought to star in the film along with Margot Robbie, all three of which are supposedly close to finalizing deals for the “Dirty Dozen with Villains” as Ayer called it.
Plot concept: A group of supervillains are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government.
