With the release this week of the Guardians of the Galaxy film on digital format, something that’s gaining more and more traction over time, there’s a good promotional push for it whereas a year or two ago it would just be ignored. Marvel’s listening to its fans that want it in this form and they’re making sure some fun little things are coming out alongside it, such as getting to hear the way Groot was dubbed into fifteen different languages so various localities would have it personalized in a great way, similar to how Captain America’s notebook in The Winter Soldier was localized for a lot of areas.
They’ve also put out a new brief piece with James Gunn talking about Vin Diesel’s contributions to the character and how that unfolded a bit.
Directed by James Gunn, the feature brings together Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Batista, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Gregg Henry.
Plot concept: Brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
