FUNimation is continuing its week of casting announcements for Free! Eternal Summer, which they simulcast this past summer. While there are no dates available yet for when this will be released, the cast is going to grow well here. Earlier, we got J. Michael Tatum as Rei Ryugazaki and Nagisa, who will be played by Greg Ayres. Today is a welcome surprise one as FUNimation has brought on Johnny Yong Bosch to take on the role of Makoto. It’s not often we see him in FUNimation releases, though he’s done a few. He’s known for some big roles over the years, from the lead in Code Geass to his more recent role as Artemis in Sailor Moon.
The cast now includes Johnny Yong Bosch as Makoto, J. Michael Tatum as Rei and Greg Ayres as Nagisa.
Free! Eternal Summer is directed by Hiroko Utsumi based on scripts by Masahiro Tokotani and character designs by Futoshi Nishiya. The series stars Nobunaga Shimazaki, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Mamoru Miyano, Tsubasa Yonaga, Daisuke Hirakawa and Yoshimasa Hosoya.
Plot concept: The pool boys are back for a second season in Free! Eternal Summer! Their friendships have only gotten stronger, and their skills in the pool are growing every day. New rivals and new challenges lie ahead, and the competition is about to get fierce!
