Ah, the fun of speculation or sources citing things. While there was word recently that Cara Delevigne was being courted for the role of Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, now things are angling more towards Margot Robbie again. She’s been tied to the film from various sources since the announcement of the film was made formal, but it wasn’t certain if she was going to stick with it since she’s also being courted for several films these days, including Ghost in the Shell. But now Collider is saying that Robbie is pretty much locking in on the part of Harley Quinn for the film, which could be any number of different interpretations over the years from comics, to the animated series and to the video games. And, of course, there are multiple comic interpretations as well, including her recent stint in that Suicide Squad comic.
Announced for a 2016 released, Suicide Squad is being helmed by Fury director David Ayer. It has previously reported that Will Smith and Tom Hardy are being sought to star in the film along with Margot Robbie, all three of which are supposedly close to finalizing deals for the “Dirty Dozen with Villains” as Ayer called it.
Plot concept: A group of supervillains are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government.
