‘Yuki Yuna wa Yusha de Aru’ Anime Gets Second Japanese DVD/BD Promo

yuki-yuna-wa-yusha-de-aru-episode-01The home video release plans in Japan for Yuki Yuna wa Yusha de Aru were revealed earlier in the season and now Pony Canyon has launched their second promotional video for these releases. We’re still curious to see what the North American plans are, but for those wanting to familiarize themselves with how they handle it in the home market, here you go. On the Japanese side, the fall 2014 anime series will be getting a six volume release on DVD and Blu-ray priced at 6,500 yen and 7,500 yen respectively. Those releases will begin on December 17th, 2014 and continue on monthly for the remainder of the run. The first release has its on-disc extras revealed in that we’ll get the clean opening and closing,c haracter commercials and web promos for the series episodes relevant to this disc. The release will come with a twelev page booklet and plans for a first press material is in the works.

The project is being done by Studio Gokumi with direction by Seiji Kishi based on scripts and composition by Makoto Euze. BUNBUN is on board serving as the character designer.

The series stars Haruka Terui as the main character of Yuna in the show. Terui was most recently seen in Engaged to the Unidentified as a lead character but has largely done background roles since beginning her voice acting career recently. Yumi Uchiyama is taking on the role of Fu Inubozaki while Tomoyo Kurosawa will be playing Itsuki Inubozaki. Suzuko Mimori, who will be playing Mimori Togo.

Plot concept: The story takes place in the era of the gods, year 300. Yūna Yūki lives an ordinary life as a second year middle school student, but she’s also a member of the “Hero Club,” where club activities involve dealing with a mysterious being called “Vertex.”
