Marvel knows how to tease their fans and give them small tidbits that will excite them. One of those moments came up during their 75th anniversary special on ABC last night, which was shown nationally but cut out by a lot of local affiliates in favor of election coverage. While they had a lot of history to it – and plenty of welcome reverence for Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and Joe Simon in addition to Stan Lee as the history of the company gets nudged a little closer to reality, the final segment of it started to delve into the movies and TV materials. And during that phase, we got some behind the scenes looks at both Ant-Man, which has had its listing of the Scott Lang character tweaked a bit from con man to master thief, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The look is certainly short, but we see Rudd coming into contact with the suit and some time with Michael Douglas while Avengers ramps up the intensity of what Elizabeth Olsen will be bringing to the film as Scarlet Witch.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the Ant-Man film lands on July 17th, 2015. It stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, Patrick Wilson, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll.
Plot concept: Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age Of Ultron is set to land on May 1st, 2015 and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader.
Plot concept: When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
