‘Agent Carter’ Debuts First Clip & New Teaser

2 min read

Agent Carter HeaderWith no Agents of SHIELD episode on last night due to election coverage, ABC put out on their national network (and secondary channels for local broadcasters, a Marvel 75 Anniversary special. The clip comes in at almost three minutes, which includes a brief action tease for a different part of the opening episode that lets Hayley Atwell show off the kind of work it’ll be in terms of music and choreography as it looks to capture the period well. ABC is looking to use the show in a good way to minimize breaks in the full season for Agents of SHIELD as it’s getting an eight episode run that will debut in January and run straight, telling one storyline with a relatively small cast that will fill in the gaps on some of the early days of the SSR that eventually becomes SHIELD.

The series stars tars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley. It’s executive produced by Christopher Markus, Steve McFeely, Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Jeph Loeb

Plot concept: It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers.

And here’s the TV spot we got last week:
