I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying Episode 4
Explaining your job to neighbors and friends is never easy.

What They Say:
Kaoru is an OL you can find anywhere, serious and works diligently, but her husband is a super otaku and more-or-less a NEET. She is caught up in one of her husband’s whims one day or the subject of his concerns another, but the two are so close that it’s embarrassing to even watch them!

While I found some humor when it comes to the husband’s brother, I’m glad that we’ve moved beyond it here a bit as we deal with the couple themselves. The impetus here is that he’s given up on his blog in order to just be a user now, a total NEET, which freaks her out. But he’s intent on getting a job instead and begins that path, which excites her all the more. There’s plenty of quick little gags about his search for work, though there are some options open to him as he ends up working for Miki in his detective office. It turns out that it’s a pity job, but the way he goes about it is fun as it’s a pretty depressing office and he’s so bland in his style of speech that it just drives it all the more. Naturally, we can’t have him out of the home for long since that kills the humor and finding a way to deal with it works well since it all comes back to the fact that these two really do enjoy being together.

In Summary:
Getting back to focus on the core couple a bit is welcome, especially since the husband gets most of the time here. He’s been present throughout, but it’s not had a lot of time with him like this. Kaoru’s hopes of him having a job that she can talk about is understandable, but we also get the reality of it in that she just wants him to be happy and to be close to him, and it’s something that he understands but also tries to help when it comes to the other area. The two continue to be a cute couple, but it really needs more of them as a couple to work some better humor.
