Announced just about a week ago as being green lit, new casting information has surfaced about the anime adaptation of Kazuma Kamachi Heavy Object light novel series that began in 2009 and has had eight volumes published so far.The new addition comes in the form of Shizuka Itou, who has some popular and solid credits behind her, as she’ll be taking on the role of Major Floretia Capistrano. Itou has been in a lot of Hayate the Combat Butler as Hinagiku but has also been seen as the lead in Jormungand as Koko as well as Yayoi in Psycho-Pass. She’s also got some fans for taking on Sailor Venus in the Sailor Moon Crystal series.
A brief manga run was done back in 2009 that ran for two years and then a second manga adaptation kicked off in 2011 that also ran for two years. Unsurprisingly, a new manga adaptation is in the works.
The anime adaptation was announced at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival this month and while no staff or production studio was announced, a few of the characters had their casting revealed. The series will star Natsuki Hanae as Quenser, Kaito Ishikawa as Heivia, Shizuka Itou as Major Floretia Capistrano and Eri Suzuki as Milinda.
Plot concept: Quenser came to the Alaskan military base to study Objects, the new weapons that have completely revolutionized war as we know it—battles are fought by soldiers controlling Objects far away from harm; however, when he starts to get close to Object pilot Milinda, will he discover the grim truth behind Heavy Objects?
