Tadatoshi Fujimaki brought his Kuroko’s Basketball series to a close at the beginning of September, to the surprise of many fans as the title was certainly rolling right along and had just gotten a third series anime announcement, but we know something else was coming. No the latest issue of Jump Next magazine has revealed that the property is coming back with the December 29th, 2014 issue with the sequel series. No title has been announced for the sequel series yet but it was revealed that there will be a color opening page and the series will get the cover spot as well. Since the original series began in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2008, it ended with 30 volumes total and close to thirty million copies sold as well. A new anime season is set for sometime in 2015.

First series concept: Taiga Kagami has just enrolled into Seirin High School when he meets Tetsuya Kuroko of the school’s basketball team. Kuroko happens to be the shadowy sixth member of the legendary “Generation of Miracles” basketball team. Together, Kagami and Kuroko aim to take their team to the inter-high school championship — against Kuroko’s former teammates.
