The month of September in the BookScan market is a bit interesting this time around for a few different reasons. One is that Attack on Titan is consistently doing well after all these months as four volumes are in the top twenty with the most recent 13th volume taking the second place spot. Kodansha also makes out rather well as Noragami has debuted in the twelfth spot. That’s quite impressive considering that the series has only a handful of volumes in Japan and the anime adaptation was out earlier this year. But it speaks well of the potential for the book for the long run. Viz Media strikes up a book in the list with One Piece as well as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’S getting in there.
On the comics side, Image Comics tends to dominate as we get a couple of Walking Dead books, which will take over more of the chart in the coming months as the series comes back on the air for another split season. Saga also continues to do well, though this is the first time recently that only two of the volumes make it on, the first and third ones. DC Comics continues with its evergreen titles in Watchmen and Batman: The Killing Joke while also getting the latest Fables book up there via Vertigo Comics. Marvel only has one book, holding onto the bottom spot, with the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy series first volume.
