Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun| Episode 12 (Finale) | TFP Review
stardf29: Heh, of course the whole Chiyo and Nozaki festival encounter had to be one big tease… but I guess that’s how it is for those two. It was interesting, though, to see how all the couples of this show ended up encountering each other at the festival. Wakamatsu mistaking Kashima for Yuzuki’s boyfriend was particularly amusing.
It’s a rare treat to see a show so devoted to the art of comedy and pull it off as well as this show did. Not only did the show really know how to get laughs, but it also knew how to develop the characters and their relationships just enough to allow us to care for them (while still being horrific teases about any actual progress). This show is easily the funniest show of the year, and an overall highly memorable show on top of that. I would certainly love for there to be a second season of it.
Buckeye: That’s a great way to end this show. I knew that Nozaki was going to use this declaration of love as an idea for his manga instead of reciprocating her feelings. That ending sure is hilarious seeing how this was an opportunity to show his love for fireworks. And then there is the whole Valentine’s Day chocolate fiasco that is pretty funny. Anyway, this show has been a great ride and this is a proper way to end it.
Overall, this show comes forward as being another quirky and crazy comedy, but unlike other comedies there is a lot more that this show has to offer. Not only does the comedy crack me up, but it does a nice job in bringing out the best of the characters, as well ad doing a fine job in explaining the manga creation process while doing so.
Sensuifu: Cute ending to a cute and definitely fun series. While I suspected that scene between Nozaki and Chiyo wouldn’t turn out to be serious, it was nonetheless an endearing piece. Despite Chiyo’s high hopes being shot down by reality, she’s just content for having a clueless Nozaki by her side. That’s all that matters to her when it comes to making her happy.
Definitely laughed at Kashima trying to get Hori to ride her shoulders.. Seo and Waka were fun, though couldn’t match that of the theater scene…and poor Mikorin . The other characters were forgettable in the end though.
GingaDaiuchuu: Heh, I’ll take that ending. It was obviously never going to lead to true romance, and it wouldn’t have fit if it did, but this is a much sweeter note to go out on than just a full-on gag.
Jun Kuga: Maybe it already has?
Chiyo’s flashback had a different hairstyle than usual. A single ribbon at the back of her hair. We know that Nozaki has a hard time with hairstyles. Maybe Chiyo was his inspiration for Mamiko, who has a single ribbon at the back of her hair… and remember, he sees himself as a Suzuki, and Suzuki only has eyes for Mamiko…?
Hitusgi Amachi: All we will ever get is mercilessly teased about their relationship…but that’s the whole point of the show
It was a sweet ending for the show and I was glad to have it this season.
