With his legal troubles now behind him, Bryan Singer has finalized his deal with Fox to come back and direct X-Men: Apocalypse. While he had to sit out the press side of things during X-Men: Days of Future Past, he kept involved by coming up with treatments and plans for the sequel, though never saying that he was going to direct it. Having been involved in all of the films to some degree, that wasn’t a surprise. But now that all things are settled and the home video release is out soon for Days of Future Past, all plans are now moving forward and Singer is set to try and recreate the $700 million worldwide take in another film – if not bring in even more.
Following up from the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the new feature previously confirmed that the main cast will be back in the form of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult along with Hugh Jackman who is game for at least one more run. The new film is being written by Simon Kinberg with the screenwriters of X-Men 2, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Filming is set to start in Montreal in April 2015 and that sets are going to be constructed at the end of this year at Mel’s Studio, where the previous film was shot.
