We’re just a few weeks away from the debut of Star Wars Rebels and Disney XD and the official Star Wars channel are ramping up with more teases to try and draw you in through various angels. The latest addition to the channel is a new one minute spot that plays up the generational angle of things as it seeks to tie the different trilogies together with how it will fill in some of the blanks but also expand on the universe as a whole. The series is set to have its one hour premiere on September 29th, 2014 and will roll into its TV series debut on Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at 9pm ET on the Disney Channel before going to Disney XD for its main debut on October 13th, 2014 at 9pm.
The one hour premiere will be called Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion. The series will air in 34 languages across 163 countries in over 400 million households.
With the series exploring the time between the third and fourth installments and taking a lot of cues from the McQuarrie artwork, it’s settling in well to its design and has a lot of potential.
The series stars Freddie Prinze, Jr., Taylor Gray, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar and Vanessa Marshall.
Plot concept: Set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. It takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
