Casting has been one of the areas where Marvel Studios has largely hit it out of the park and it looks like they’ve done it once again. With production ramping up to film the Agent Carter series, James D’Arcy has boarded the project to take on the role of Jarvis. Jarvis is a known commodity within the movie franchise as the virtual butler that Tony Stark uses throughout his house and within the Iron Man suit. But the character was originally a butler within the comics that worked in the Avengers mansion. For Agent Carter, the character is being shifted to working as a butler for Howard Stark in the 40’s and will serve as an ally to the SSR that Hayley Atwell’s character Peggy Carters works within. D’Arcy has a pretty good slate of credits behind him over the years in both film and TV with a lot of range and styles.

ABC picked up the eight episode run of Agent Carter to serve as a bridge between the second season split of Agents of SHIELD so that both shows will get solid runs without a lot of gaps between them.

The series stars Hayley Atwell and is executive produced by Christopher Markus, Steve McFeely, Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Jeph Loeb

Plot concept: It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers.
