After a less than enjoyable Momotaro episode, Ai Mai Mi can mostly only go upward. With a cute opening bit that has Mi dreaming of what she would buy with a lot of money that’s just very intense, it turns into reality as she ends up buying one. But that’s got little to do with anything as we instead get to deal with a ten years later gag with Mi, now age twenty-six, has become the world’s best arms dealer in an extremely dark world that she seemingly rules over in a nervous voice. While she rules with an iron fist, it’s no surprise that her friends have come back to try and stop her. Naturally, it goes for oddball gags that you’d expect, which fits in with the whole dream aspect of it all.
In Summary:
Ai Mai Mi certainly knows how to go weird and when dealing with a dream episode, it’s not a surprise that it’ll go in some unusual places. Mi definitely has her moments here and you can certainly visualize her doing all of these things and being that awkward. There are cute gags or stylistic choices here, but it still falls kind of flat overall.
