Manga Entertainment UK Acquires ‘Ben-To’ Anime License

Manga Entertainment UK made a pretty nice announcement at the Scotland Comic Con this past weekend with word that they’ve picked up the rights to Ben-To. The series, which is coming in North America from FUNimation, is not dated for release yet but it will be one that is Blu-ray only, which is an interesting change for that market that just a few years ago found anime TV releases on Blu-ray to be very hard to do.

FUNimation’s release was set for earlier this year but was delayed due to finding out that there is a home video version in Japan that differs from the broadcast edition and they were investigating that.

Never seen the show before? Check out the first episode below!

Plot concept: Every day an epic struggle rages in grocery stores across Japan – the battle for half-priced bento boxes! Once the discount stickers go on, ravenous brawlers start throwing punches in a knockdown, drag-out war over who gets to take home the cheap eats.
