Viz Media held their Moonlight Party last night for the debut of the new dub for the classic Sailor Moon series and the first four episodes are now fully available on Neon Alley and Hulu for viewing. This release of the episodes comes just over two months in advance of the release of the show on home video and we’ll be seeing more dubbed episodes going live on the service as well. The series is coming to DVD/BD combo pack on November 11th, 2014 with the first 23 episodes of the 200 episode run.
The new dub adaptation stars Stephanie Sheh as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon, Kate Higgins as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Cristina Vee as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Amanda C. Miller as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, Cherami Leigh as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus, Robbie Daymond as Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask and Michelle Ruff as Luna. The series is being directed by Suzanne Goldish.
Plot concept: Usagi Tsukino is a clumsy but kindhearted teenage girl who transforms into the powerful guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon. Meeting allies along the way who share similar fates, Usagi and her team of planetary Sailor Guardians fight to protect the universe from forces of evil and total annihilation.
