We’ve got a bit to go before Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor – Exodus arrives, which is scheduled for a winter 2015 debut in Japan, and that means plenty of time to bring out more reveals. The latest to arrive is some additional casting for the series. We knew previously that casting for the series includes Makoto Ishii as Kazuki Makabe, Kohei Kiyasu as Soshi Minashiro and Marika Matsumoto as Maya Tomi. Now we’ve learned that three more have signed on with Ryotaro Okiayu as Walter Bargest, Yuichi Nakamura as Dustin Morgan and Aki Unone as Keith Walter.

The planned 26 episode series from Xebec zwei builds upon the events of the 2010 movie, which in turn worked off of the original 2004 TV series which makes this a pretty welcome tenth anniversary project for the studio. Taking place two and a half years after the film, we get the characters aging up a bit and definitely in different places as well as a fairly serious mood and atmosphere about it.

Not much happens there, and the island’s young people go to school knowing that their lives are likely to remain peaceful and undisturbed. Or so they have been taught… but the truth is different. The fate of mankind is on the line, and Tatsumiyajima is the last line of defense against a hostile and incomprehensible enemy. At the center of it all, fighting for Humanity’s continued existence, is the giant robot Fafner, the dragon that guards this final treasure of mankind.
