The third season of Arrow has a lot of work ahead of it and they’ve been adding a lot of characters and actors to the show. One that was added back at the beginning of July was Devon Aoki, just seen in Sin City 2, who would be taking on the role of Tatsu Yamashiro, aka Katana. It appears as though scheduling conflicts have arisen for the actress and she’s had to back out of the production. Taking over the role is Rila Fukushima, the Japanese fashion model and actress who was seen in 2013’s The Wolverine alongside hugh Jackman. She’s got a new movie out this year in Japan with Twiulight Sasarasaya, which is her third movie. She’s done two TV series in Japan with Gunshi Kanbei and The Long Goodbye and Arrow marks her first North American TV production.

The character is going to be used in a similar way to that of Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson during the first and second season as she’s going to be one of Oliver’s mentors during the flashback sequences when he ended up in Hong Kong and really underwent his training that lead him to where he is now. And, naturally, she’ll eventually catch up to the present day storyline as well.

The third season of Arrow debuts on October 8th, 2014.

Plot concept: In the aftermath of this victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen – not as long as the city needs The Arrow.
