Mired by controversy over the summer and being listed as what could be the bomb of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before anything was even film, the production began on Ant-Man this week and Marvel Studios has let loose with the first image from it. Of course, it’s a simple image as we get a look at Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a con-man that gets drawn into something larger. While a single image won’t change anyone’s mind, it is an interesting look at Rudd as this is not his normal type of movie and the design of the scene certainly puts him in a position that the actor isn’t in often with his look and feel.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the film lands on July 17th, 2015. It stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, Patrick Wilson, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll.
Plot concept: Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
