Debuting in theaters back in June 2014, Warner Bros. has set the home video release date for Edge of Tomorrow. The feature sadly underperformed when it was released, as did quite a few films this summer, as it came in just a hair under the $100 million mark domestically while adding another $264 million overseas on its 4178 million budget. The film, which was based on the Japanese sci-fi novel All You Need Is Kill, starred superstar Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible) as Major William Cage & Emily Blunt (The Adjustment Bureau) as Rita Vrataski (aka the Full Metal Bitch; Angel of Verdun). It will arrive on Blu-ray/DVD combo packs October 7th.

While it didn’t connect with audiences, it did do well with critics as it has a 90% fresh rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes.

The release will also be getting a 3D combo pack and all both releases will include:

  • Operation Downfall
  • Adrenaline Cut
  • Storming The Beach
  • Weapons Of The Future
  • Creatures Not Of This World
  • On The Edge With Doug Liman
  • Deleted Scenes

Plot conecpt: Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.
