With the arrival of the Batman: Assault on Arkham release, we now get a look at the nine minute sneak peek at the next movie in the DC Animated line with Justice League: Throne of Atlantis that’s coming in early 2015. Though we don’t have a firm date set for it yet, we now get an extensive look at how the character is being portrayed and how it’s launching from the Justice League: War feature. The voice cast for it has also been revealed for the big players as Matt Lanter will be handling Aquaman while Jason O’Mara is on as Batman, Shemar Moore as Cyborg, Christopher Gorham as the Flash, Sean Astin as Shazam, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Sam Witwer as Orm and Sumalee Montano as Mera. The feature is adapting what makes up the third graphic novel from that comic series as written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Ivan Reiss.
“A lot of times with Aquaman people just focus on his powers and their opinion of them as being lame — which I don’t believe — and that’s all they think of him,” supervising producer James Tucker is quoted. “Hopefully we’ve made him a person in people’s eyes first. And then the powers and the telepathy with fish and all that can be put in perspective.”
Plot concept: When Atlantis is struck by a U.S. Naval missile gone awry, Atlantis–led by Aquaman’s brother Ocean Master–attacks the East Coast of the United States flooding its major cities such as Boston, Metropolis, Gotham City and several others. The Justice League comes together to help Aquaman turn back the tide, but they soon learn that they are woefully overmatched by the Atlantean Army, and must find a way to save the world from total annihilation.
