Though I can’t get to see the movie until tomorrow night, tonight is the opening debut of the limited engagement for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. To get folks a bit more aware, a fourth clip of the dub has been released which brings us some time with a look at Lord Beerus in the show with some good action and a bit of good humor as well that certainly makes you laugh, especially when you get to the spanking moment. FUNimation has been expanding and working the marketing for the feature pretty well as we get closer to its debut on August 5th where it’s doing a limited events run through eight hundred screens nationwide, with more being added.
Plot concept: Following the events from the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Beerus, an ancient and powerful God of Destruction, searches for Goku after hearing rumors of the Saiyan warrior who defeated Frieza. Realizing the threat Beerus poses to their home planet, the Z-fighters must find a way to stop him before it’s too late. Only Goku, humanity’s last hope, can ascend to the level of a legendary Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus from destroying Earth, and possibly the entire universe! Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Battle of Gods is an original work from Dragon Ball creator, himself, Akira Toriyama.
