Corey Stoll was announced as taking on the role of Darren Cross and Yellowjacket for Ant-Man and some interesting tidbits have come out about the role. With a lot of interviews out there from SDCC that are still finding the light of day where various actors and producers talk about their projects, the folks at Nerd Repository has one interviewing him where he talks a bit about costume design and the approach of this incarnation of the character.

“I’ve had several costume fittings and it’s looking amazing,” said Stoll of his high-tech villain suit in the movie. “It’s still in flux, they’re still figuring out exactly how it’s going to look, but it’s going to be awesome. In the comic books, Yellowjacket was an incarnation of Henry Pym, and he sort of did some ethically duteous things as Yellowjacket. In this story, Darren Cross, who was in the comic books but was not Yellowjacket in the comic books, he has a suit that is sort of the next generation of Ant-Man’s suit. It can do everything that Ant-Man can do, but more. It’s more badass, more militaristic, sleeker… sort of like if Apple had designed a battle suit. I just think the battles and the stuff that we’re going to do is gonna be so cool.”

Directed by Peyton Reed, the film lands on July 17th, 2015. It stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, Patrick Wilson, Evangeline Lilly, and Corey Stoll.

Plot concept: Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
