Bandai Visual Japanese ‘Sabagebu!’ Anime Release Blu-ray Only

2 min read

Sabagebu Image 27The Japanese release for Sabagebu is being handled by Bandai Visual and it looks like they’re doing a series of six special edition releases and are, for now, avoiding DVD entirely. Which makes sense as at some time you have to move on from a format, especially with certain sellers. This series is getting a six volume release beginning on September 24th, 2014 that will be priced at 7,000 yen each. Each release will have two episodes, though the first volume will come with a special OVA episode as well. The first volume also has a few other details in that there will be a good bit of extras such as a footage from the Anime Japan 2014 presentation, the clean opening and closings, cast commentary, an 8 page booklet and three postcards as well.

The series is directed by Masahiko Ota with Takashi Aoshima doing the scripts for it and that Pierrot Plus will be handling the animation for the show. This studio has a fair number under its belt to be sure in the last few years, doing a lot of in-between animation for the most part as well as 2nd key animation. They also served as the main animation studio for Tegami Bachi and Beelzebub.

Plot concept: Middle school girl Momoka is dragged into joining one of the strangest associations at her school, the Survival Game Club. Its members participate in various forms of paramilitary training under the watchful eye of charming and alarming president, Miou. How on Earth will the inexperienced Momoka survive her training, let alone Miou’s company?!
