‘Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun’ Anime Gets Two More TV Spots

Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun Image 1The anime adaptation of the manga Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun is almost here as it’s set to debut on July 6th, 2014. With just a couple of days to go, a pair of new TV spots have landed for the series that gives us a thirty second spot and a fifteen second spot that works a different tone and feeling music wise from the previous extended spots that we’ve gotten. Daisuke Ono has signed on to play Mitsuya Maeno, Kenta Miyake as Ken Miyamae and Ayako Kawasumi will be playing Yukari Miyako. The series previously had cast its leads, which you can see in the video below, with Yuichi Nakamura as Umetaro Nozaki, Ari Ozawa as Chiyo Sakura and Nobuhiko Kotamoto as Mikoto Mikoshiba.

The series, based on the manga by Izumi Tsubaki (creator of Oresama Teacher), is animated by Dogakobo. The series will be directed by Mitsue Yamazaki based on scripts and composition by Yoshiko Nakamura and character designs by Junichiro Taniguchi. The original four panel web manga began in the summer of 2011 and is ongoing with four published volumes to date.

Plot concept: Sakura Chiyo is a highschool student who has a crush on a schoolmate named Nozaki-kun. One day, she confessed her love to him but he mistook her as a fan. Things starts to get complicated when Nozaki-kun invites her to come to his house only to find his secret: he is a shōjo manga artist. Sakura then decides to be Nozaki-kun’s assistant in order to get closer to him. She later gets acquintanced with Nozaki’s other assistants who are all no strangers to Sakura. The story revolves around the making of Nozaki’s manga Let’s Love~ and everyday situations happen around the characters.
