Kadokawa has brought out another promotional video for the Eiji Otsuka series MPD-Psycho as the 20th volume has landed in stores today and that gives them a chance to show it off. They did the same thing back in October of 2013 when the nineteenth volume came out as well. Unfortunately, the release of this volume also heralds the news that the next volume will be the series finale of the work by Otsuka and Shou Tajima. The series, which has been running since 1997, is done with Shou Tajima and has continually earned a lot of praise. Dark Horse comics began releasing the series last decade but ended their run with it after the tenth volume in 2011. But that changed earlier this year when the 11th volume was scheduled for a July 23rd, 2014 release that’s still on track.
Series plot concept: Oolice detective Kobayashi Yousuke’s life is changed forever after a serial killer notices something “special” about him. That same killer mutilates Kobayashi’s wife and kick-starts a “multiple personality battle” within Kobayashi that pushes him into a complex tempest of interconnected deviants and evil forces.
