black-bullet-episode-02Hanabee’s library buildup from the spring 2014 anime season continues as they’ve announced the acquisition of  Black Bullet, which will likely hit some time in 2015. The company has added both streaming and home video rights for the show. The series comes from the original creator, Shiden Kanzaki, and is directed by Masayuki Kojima (Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Bottom Biting Bug) with series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata (Fighting Spirit, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere), music by Shiro Sagisu (Nadia – The Secret of Blue Water, Neon Genesis Evangelion) and animation production by Kinema Citrus (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Yuyushiki).

Sentai Filmworks has picked up the North American rights for it and if they produce a dub, it will be available for the Australian release as well.

Plot concept: It’s the year 2031 and ten years have passed since Rentaro’s parents – along with most of mankind – were killed by an alien parasitical virus known as Gastrea. Rentaro, along with his childhood friends, Kisara and Enju, have formed the Tendo Civil Security to tirelessly fight against Gastrea. Operating as a pair with Enju as Initiator, and Rentaro as Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children, they must together work as a team to dismantle evil brought on by Gastrea.
