Based on the boys-love manga of the same name by Shungiku Nakamura that was released in 2005, Hybrid Child has revealed its first promotional video for the anime adaptation. While making sure to promote the manga as well. Digital Manga Publishing previously released the translated manga here, but fans may know Nakamura more by her more popular works with Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi, both of which are still ongoing in manga form. No season has been set for the series yet, but it looks like it has a pretty solid team behind it.

The series is going to be directed by Michiio Fukuda based on series composition by Aki Itami and character designs by Takahiro Kishida. The series is going to be animated at Studio Deen, which will definitely give it some strong production values. It stars Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kotarou Izumi, Daisuke Hirakawa as Hazumi, Tsubasa Yonaga as Yuzu, Ryohei Kimura as Ichi Seya, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tsukishima and Yuuki Ono as Kuroda.

Plot concept: The Hybrid Child is an amazing android that can grow if it is lavished with enough love and care from its owner. Neither fully machine nor fully human, the various Hybrid Child models develop strong emotional bonds with their owners. This volume contains several short stories of love, sacrifice, and drama: Young Kotaro learns the importance of responsibility when his Hybrid Child’s lifespan runs out. The tragic swordsman Seya learns to love again with the help of his Hybrid child, Yuzu. The final tale tells the story of Kuroda, the creator of the Hybrid Child designs, and how his lost love inspired their creation.
