MVM Entertainment has made some solid pickups recently though information on them is still a bit light as they haven’t made formal solicitations yet. The formats are a bit up in the air for most at the moment, but Kokoro Connect has been solicited with a DVD-only release and Mysterious Girlfriend X as well, wit hit showing up in their own online store. Blast of Tempest has not shown up at any retail sites yet nor have the Patlabor OVAs or the Bunny Drop release. They’re all expected to have DVDs at the least and will utilizes any existing dub materials there are as well.

Kokoro Connect: The five members of the Cultural Study group that meets in class 401 have spent a lot of time wondering what it would be like to be in someone else’s shoes. But they’re about to learn that there’s a huge difference between thinking about it and literally BEING in someone else’s shoes! That’s exactly what happens when, suddenly and inexplicably, they each find themselves inside the body of the girl – or boy – next door!

What happens next? Well, besides bringing a whole new meaning to the term “exchange student” and the to-be-expected freaked-out runs to the bathroom, it’s not hard to do the math: take one wrestling geek, the resident cool girl, the class clown, the popular chick and one sultry maid of mystery, scramble thoroughly and divide, and you can bet that pretty soon they’ll be answering ALL of the questions they never wanted to know about the opposite sex in ways they never anticipated

Blast of Tempest: One day, a sorceress princess was stuffed into a barrel and banished. One day, a girl was suddenly murdered, and the culprit still runs free. And one day, a battle spanning time and space over magic and revenge began! Sanity and madness, sense and intelligence, self-confidence and convictions – the tragic tale of this irrational world begins here.

Bunny Drop: Daikichi, a 30-year-old bachelor, is surprised to meet a 6-year-old, Rin, at his grandfather Souichi’s funeral. He and his family are even more surprised to learn that Rin is Souichi’s daughter. When the topic of who will care for her comes up, the family shirks all responsibility of raising this “shameful” child. In an emotional outburst, Daikichi declares his intention to take Rin into his home. This is the story of two very different individuals coming together under one roof and learning what it means to be a family, an experience that teaches Daikichi what it means to be a parent.

Patlabor OVAs: Drunk drivers are bad, but put a drunk driver in a giant robot called a Labor and you’ve got a disaster waiting to happen. And when REAL criminals get their hands on those same giant robots, the cops need giant robots of their own just to maintain the status quo, right? That’s the logic behind the development of the Patlabor program and special Labor Crime units like Japan’s Section 2, in any case. But what logic fails to take into account is where to find police officers who’re equally conversant with both robots and the regulations? That’s where the motley crew of Section 2, Division 2 comes in!

With ridiculously perky tomboy Noa Izumi and gun-happy madman Isao Ohta as primary Labor pilots and the impossibly laidback Captain Goto in what passes for command, SV2 is ready to hit the streets with their twenty-ton feet! But will they be taking a byte out of crime or have they bitten off more than they can chew? The law of the land and the laws of robotics are about to collide!

Mysterious Girlfriend X: When the oddly peculiar Mikoto Urabe transfers into Akira Tsubaki’s class, he finds that life has thrown him the weirdest curve ball ever. While Urabe may be an anti-social loner who sleeps on her desk, carries a pair of scissors in her underwear, and breaks out in sudden fits of insane laughter, there’s something about her that Tsubaki just can’t quite put his finger on. …Until he accidentally puts his finger in it, and suddenly the phrase “sharing spit with a girl” takes on an entirely new meaning!

Before he can wipe her drool off his face, Tsubaki is mysteriously addicted to Urabe, which isn’t half as strange as the fact that she not only finds this normal, but already seems to have plans for her new drooling boyfriend. So, can a girl spitting in your face ever be a GOOD thing? Is this relationship bound for disaster or great expectorations? Find out as Urabe puts a spittle love in Tsubaki’s heart and things get REALLY bizarre!
