2 min read

Lupin Live Action HeaderWhile we’ve still got a wait until the August 30th, 2014 debut of the live action Lupin the 3rd film, the first theatrical poster has arrived which will start making its way into Japanese theaters shortly. It’s not a surprise that it’s focusing largely on Shun Oguri as the title character and we expect more character posters will pop up as well as an ensemble piece as well, especially as we get closer to the premiere. The project was filmed during fourth quarter of 2013 where they shot in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. The film is directed by Ryūhei Kitamura, whose last directing project was 2008′s Midnight Meat Train and he has some good credits to his name with both Alive and Versus.

Shun Oguri – Lupin III
Tetsuji Tamayama – Daisuke Jigen
Gou Ayano – Ishikawa Goemon
Meisa Kuroki – Fujiko Mine
Tadanobu Asano – Inspector Koichi Zenigata

Plot concept: Taking place before the gang comes together and are working as individuals, we see them make their way into the Ark of Navarone in order to steal the Crimson Heart of Cleopatra, an item that has a legend that it will unite the world under the person who possesses it.
