With the feature having hit theaters back in January 2014, Aniplex Japan has now set the release date for The Idolm@ster movie. It’s a good bit away from release, which is a bit of a surprise, but it’s set to land on October 8th, 2014 in a number of different configurations for fans. While we have the standard four types of releases between formats, we also get a couple of Amazon Japan exclusives thrown into the mix as well to explore.

On disc extras for the release include a commercial gallery and an audio commentary that includes the cast and staff. There’s also going to be some episode from the property included on a separate disc while a third disc in the set will have all sorts of other documentary material about the project.
Plot concept: The idols of 765 Production continue on their neverending journey—towards a new stage, towards a bright and shiny future! The girls and their producer have gone through thick and thin, and have stood face to face with all kinds of difficulties. It’s time again for the girls to foster their friendship, and through great discipline, they step forward to their starry future.
