Summer series are starting to pop up with some official sites going live and that means a few pieces of key art start to surface as well. One show that we’re certainly curious about but aren’t expecting to see simulcast is the next round of the Pretty Rhythm universe. Takara Tomy Arts announced earlier this year a new series called Puri-Para will debut on July 5th and now we’ve got a new key visual for it.
The new show is kicking off in a big way with some of the announcements as it was revealed that the idol group i☆Ris would be handling the opening theme song for the show, which is a nice bit of continuity since they provided the ending song for Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live. In addition to that, it was revealed that Himika Akaneya will be the lead in this series of Laala while the rest of the group will flesh out the cast.
Plot Concept: The new anime is set in the Puri-Para world, filled with girls’ dreams and yearnings for fashion, dance, and music. Seemingly every day, there are auditions that send top idols to worldwide fame on television and online. Laala and her friends are all fascinated with this world. However, Laala’s school prohibits Puri-Para for elementary school children. An unexpected chance leads Laala to make her first entrance into the world of Puri-Para, where she just might make her debut.
