While we had gotten word awhile ago that the second season of Encouragement of Climb was on its way, it’s been pretty quiet ahead of the summer 2014 season with what’ s going on with it. While the first season was broadcast for thirteen episodes running at five minutes each, which were beautiful, the new season is slated for twenty-six episodes and it will be a fifteen minute show. The new season is scheduled to start in July 2014 with studio 8-Bit returning to animate it.
We’ve had our season two key visual for a bit now, which you can see to the right, but now a cast-tagged version has debuted which you can see below. The series starts Yui Ogura, Kana Asumi, Yoko Hikasa and Yuka Iguchi.

Plot concept: Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they’ve decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?
