We’ve had the first trailer for the upcoming release of Red Data Girl for a few weeks now but as we get closer to the release next month, FUNimation is starting to bring out the dub clips for it. The first one that we get goes for a pretty dark and ominous tone overall as it gives us a bit of a clue as to some of the characters personalities. The series, which is set for a DVD release on June 17th, 2014 for $54.98, brings the twelve episode series that was simulcast to the home video market. The release has a few extras listed for it so far with the commentaries and clean opening and closing sequences.

Directed by Joel McDonald, the series stars Bryn Apprill, Micah Solusod, Caitlin Glass, Joel McDonald, Kristi Kang, Chris Burnett, Ryan Reynolds, David Matranga, Clifford Chapin, Dave Trosko, Jason Liebrecht and Leah Clark.

Plot concept: Izumiko is a fifteen year old outcast who was raised inseclusion at an ancient shrine hidden deep within the forest. This mysterious teenager destroys any electrical device she attempts to use, and her painful shyness has left her with few, if any, friends. Her world begins to evolve after enrolling in Houjou Academy, a school home to students of supernatural origins. Accompanied by her fated guardian, the brooding monk-in-training Miyuki, Izumiko soon discovers the shocking truth about herself: she is a vessel for the spirt of a powerful and vengeful goddess from a time long since passed. As her bond with Miyuki growns stronger, the spirit lurking within Izumiko begins to awaken. Can this fragile beauty learn to control her newfound power– or will the secret she carries make her the enemy of all mankind?
