Having become a bit familiar with this property through the Dark Horse Comics adaptation of the novel, there’s a certain thrill in watching aspects of The Strain come to life in these promos. The latest one we’ve got gives a bit more of a story clue than the others have as it continues to play to a darker side of things, something very few shows really do. The series previously got its first season order and is projected to get between 39 and 65 episodes depending on how things go when all is said and done, making this a series worth checking out.
Plot concept: The Strain is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
