While we had a couple of behind the scenes-ish images revealed a few weeks back for Guardians of the Galaxy, this week kicks off with three new film images that just lets us savor the alien aspect of it all. While it’s been a lot of fun with all the relatively grounded imagery we’ve gotten from most of the other Marvel Studios films to date, even Thor: The Dark World focused more on the human and hero side of things than going into the Dark Elves much, with Guardians of the Galaxy it just has an alien vibe to it from start to finish. And these new images definitely reinforce that.
Set for release on August first as directed by James Gunn, the feature brings together Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Batista, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Gregg Henry
Plot concept: An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.
