Fans of the 1991 anime series Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh have a bit more to be excited about as the complete fifty-one episode series is now slated for a Blu-ray box set later this year. The show, which is being released slowly in North America by Anime Midstream, is set to land on July 30th, 2014 priced at 53,784 yen. It had gotten a full DVD release before, about ten years ago, and this new release is working off of the original materials for a full HD remaster based on the film prints that they have. And that’ll make this a significant upgrade to be sure considering its origins.

The release doesn’t have much listed with it yet but it does say that it will include a fifty two page special booklet as a first press item.

Plot concept: Suddenly, an evil empire, Jaaku, raids the Earth. But the light appears from the Earth, and fights against Jaaku. It is Raijin Oh operated by Eldran. Eldran has protected the earth since the ancient ages. But he was injured during the fight, and Raijin Oh falls to the ground. On the other hand, Jaaku scatters their weapons, Aku Darmer, all over the world. Meanwhile, in Yosho elementary school, they have extra lessons in the 3rd class of the 5th grade. Eldran leaves Raijin Medal to them and asks them to save the Earth for him, and then he disappeared. In this way, the Earth Defense Agency consisted of elementary students is founded.
