With a prior release from when it had first aired as a part of the noitaminA block, Toho has been setting up for a new release of The Tatami Galaxy this year with a new box set to bring it all together. The new set is scheduled for a June 18th, 2014 release where it will have the entire run together for the low price of 16,000 yen. Current solicitations unfortunately do not include subtitles, of which they are available, as the show has been released in some overseas territories and the US has it up for streaming via FUNimation even four years after it first debuted there. The three shorts will be included in this release as well as the clean opening and closing sequences, promotional videos and TV spots.
Plot concept: When a college dropout stops for a late night bite at a mysterious ramen stand, he crosses paths with a self-proclaimed deity of matrimony. This bizarre meeting sends the young man hurtling through a horrifying flashback to his not-so-glorious college days when the influence of a cruel new friend turned him from a hopeless romantic into a mischievous “black cupid.”
